    Therapy for Parenting & Co-Parenting

Raising children can be tough and as parents, we may find ourselves exhausted and burnt out when attempting to manage child, preteen, and teen behavioral issues. There are times we may feel like we have tried everything and yet there is still struggle to bring about desired behaviors in the home, school, and the community. Our goal is to explore functions of behavioral challenges, and based on your child’s age offer solutions along with a behavioral plan to effectively manage problematic behaviors. The following interventions may include: positive reinforcements, setting and maintaining boundaries, social skills, replacement behaviors, and play therapy. These strategies will also establish your desired family hierarchy. In addition, as we work to support behavioral change within children and adolescents, we will also support parents in exploring different strategies to increase prosocial behaviors. This can include: leadership/parenting styles, identification of testing tactics, effective praise, and use of positive reinforcement.

Behavioral Therapy, Parent-Child Interaction Therapy, and Attachment Parenting, can benefit children and adolescent who are currently displaying the following behaviors:

    • Physical and or verbal aggression
    • Power struggles or argumentative behaviors
    • Accepting answers and or situations not in their favor
    • Completing non-preferred tasks
    • Impulsivity
    • Poor social interactions
    • School-related challenges
